Complete Primary Care Services for Adults

All too often, adults don’t visit a doctor until they are sick or injured, and that can sometimes be too late to change the course of an illness or injury.

At Metropolitan Family Health Network, our physicians believe in providing preventive primary care, which simply means taking measures to prevent diseases and injuries. This includes learning about your family history and risk factors, conducting regular physical exams and checkups, educating you about diet, exercise and healthy habits, and — if necessary — prescribing medications, tests and surgery that will help you to feel good and live a full and enjoyable life.

Our physicians also believe in treating the whole person, and that’s why we offer services to care for you from head-to-toe.

Here is a list of the services we offer to and for adults (anyone over 19 years of age):

    • Physical Exams, including those needed for work, sports and college

    • Internal Medicine focuses on adults and adult diseases (such as high-blood pressure, diabetes, heart conditions, and respiratory conditions), and is provided by doctors who are specially trained in the prevention and treatment of adult diseases.

    • Diabetes Testing and Care. Almost 10% of all Americans have diabetes, the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S. Left undiagnosed and untreated, diabetes can cause kidney failure, blindness, amputations, heart disease and strokes. In addition to diagnostic testing, we offer care and education for patients and their families

    • Lab Testing. Our lab is equipped to take care of many of the routing tests you may need, so you don’t have to go anywhere else.

    • Geriatric Care. As we age, we develop special health needs. MFHN affords those over 65 years of age comprehensive evaluations, health care and social services.

    • Adult Asthma Care. Asthma is not just for kids! Our providers will treat asthma sufferers so they may lead an active, healthier and more comfortable life.

    • Immunizations and Flu Shots. Adult immunizations include tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, measles, mumps, rubella, meningococcal, pneumococcal and influenza shots.

    • Foot Care. Our podiatrist will help you keep walking in comfort and health. Includes care for ingrown toenails, warts, bunions, diabetic foot care, heel pain and more.

    • Nutritional Counseling and Education. Our Registered Dietician provides advice on how healthy eating (including menu planning, food preparation and choices) contributes to healthier living.

    • Social Services and Case Management. Our social workers and case managers assist patients and their families in handling the emotional, social and financial stresses that often accompany illnesses  or that prevent them from seeking the care they need.

  • Medicaid and Family Services Eligibility and Enrollment. Our staff helps patients apply for Medicaid, food stamps, and other needed services.
